梅尼爾氏症之甘油試驗

梅尼爾氏症的診斷除了聽力檢查及臨床症狀以外，可以簡單的甘油試驗（glycerol dehydration test ) 來測試 ，也就是口服甘油 ( glycerol ) 作利尿劑，在利尿過程中測試聽力是否有改善，在梅尼爾氏症病人，聽力會有暫時改善，稱為甘油試驗陽性。

禁忌症

有心臟血管疾病病人、糖尿病病人，或曾接受胃切除的病人。

檢查前準備

禁食至少 6 小時。
禁服其他鎮定劑、安眠藥或止痛劑。
48 小時之內，請勿使用其他止暈的藥物。

檢查方法

檢查前一晚，午夜後禁食；
檢查當日早上 8 點先施行第一次聽力測驗；
然後喝下每公斤體重 1.2 c.c 的甘油加同體重的生理食鹽水或橘子水。
上午 11 點再做第二次的聽力測驗。
兩次聽力檢查中仍應禁食。

併發症

有些病人會因服用甘油而產生噁心、嘔吐、口渴、頭痛、輕瀉等症狀，檢查後多喝水休息即可改善這些不適症狀。
